StoaMBA is India’s best alternative to the traditional MBA. We help young professionals get into business roles at high-growth startups. It is a 6-month long program and completely online.
StoaMBA is a weekend program specifically designed for working professionals. The live classes and case competitions on weekends usually take 7 to 8 hours. On weekdays, there are 2 community nights (on Tuesday and Thursday after work hours) for networking and general career/ industry sessions. These are not mandatory and we recommend attending them based on your interest areas. We also send daily prompts that take about 15 to 20 minutes to read. These are self-paced.
The 6-month program covers live sessions on 18 modules - you can find the full list on the Program page. There are also detailed case studies, guest lectures on a wide variety of topics (industry-specific, career progression, networking) and extensive reading material. Program content is revised and updated every cohort to keep it relevant.
We have folks who have worked in mid to senior-level roles at startups or built their own ventures coming in for our learning sessions. Some facilitators we’ve had in our previous cohorts are Rashi Mishra (Brand Lead at Supertails, ex-Acko Insurance), Sairam Krishnan (Marketer-in-Residence at Accel), Ajay Bohara (Co-founder at HDFC Credila), Adhiraj Arora, (Co-founder at School of Life, ex-BCG), Vaibhav Domkundwar (CEO at Better Capital) and Ishan Kansal (Head of Products at CRED)
While some amount of learning happens every day, our live sessions, where the majority of learning happens are conducted on the weekends. The value of the program is not just the program material but also the peer to peer learning that happens within the cohort. If you work weekends and were to miss a majority of the sessions it is likely you wouldn't be able to maximise your value from the program.
Recordings of the sessions are made available 48 hours after. However, we recommend that you attend at least 80% of the sessions.
No, we're all adults here. There are no exams or standard evaluations. Rather you will be able to gauge your progressions through performance on the case weekends.
Absolutely! The StoaMBA is a general management program and we approach all our sprints from a fundamental level. The daily prompts before the weekend sessions should provide all the context you need to keep pace with the sessions. Additional resources are also available for topics you may need more information on.
Neither, being an accredited institute would require us to subscribe to regulatory norms preventing us from teaching the material we want or changing it based on developments in the startup ecosystem. Instead, you will receive a certification of which we are the issuing authority.
You can find the detailed admissions process here.
Admissions are on a first-come-first-serve basis. Applications remain open for the upcoming cohort till we fill the seats. There is an advantage to applying early as there are more seats and a higher scholarship pool available.
If you are not able to attend the admissions test on a particular Saturday, we will invite you for the next test. If you are not able to attend that either, your application will be put on hold.
Unfortunately, we do not have a policy for deferring admissions. The deposit is forfeited if you're not able to attend the cohort.
Yes of course! Although we encourage you to seek feedback and make improvements before applying again to improve your chances.
We recommend that you have at least one year of full-time work experience to make the best use of the program. However, we have admitted fellows with lesser work experience in the past on the basis of their internships or other experiences.
Yes absolutely. We have Chartered Accountants, lawyers, doctors and many other folks who come from non-business work and education backgrounds. As long as you can demonstrate an ability to comprehend basic business concepts and a willingness to learn, you should definitely apply!
Stoa School sponsors a small pool of scholarships and all admitted candidates are considered for merit- and diversity-based scholarships. If you're awarded a scholarship, it is communicated along with the offer. To keep the process consistent and fair, we do not re-evaluate scholarships after the offer is rolled out.
The program fee for Apr'22 cohort is INR 2.95 Lacs including GST. If you apply before Feb 10, 2022, the program fee would be INR 2.5 lacs including GST.

This deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to another person or a different cohort.
You can pay the fee in three ways: pay the full fee in lumpsum, pay in 3 interest-free installments, take a loan from our financing partner (interest applicable, tenure of 6 to 42 months)
This option is applicable for debit cards or netbanking only (not on credit cards). You are instructing your bank to transfer money to Stoa School in 3 equal installments without any interest. Once you complete the e-mandate process, your bank takes up to 48 hours to approve the mandate. After that, the first installment is deducted within 5 days of e-mandate creation. Following 2 installments are deducted after 30 and 60 days of the first installment deduction.
For the Apr'22 cohort, the fee is due by March 15th, 2022. Please refer to the payment manual to understand what this due date means for different payment options.
If the payment is not complete by the due date, Stoa School reserves the right to cancel your admission and forfeit the deposit amount. Otherwise, there will be a penalty of INR 2000 per day of delay.
Yes, you can foreclose your loan by contacting the financing partner directly. The foreclosure charge will be ~2% of the outstanding amount.
If you have paid to Stoa School directly (via lump sum or instalments) and you decide to drop out of the program for whatever reason, the fee will not be refunded. If you have taken a loan via our financing partner, you are liable to pay back the loan as per the schedule in your loan agreement.
